Claims that did not survive a source check — kept visible so the Documented tags elsewhere mean something.
The Maiale / Domilici / Mineo material is mostly ordinary Sicilian villagers with unusually deep parish coverage. These are the specific claims that do not hold. Keeping them public is the credibility signal for the green tags on the rest of the site.
🔴 "Baron di San Carlo" — Giovanni Calogero Amato (Carini, 1510–1597)
No corroborating source for the title. It does not fit the surrounding ordinary-villager context in Carini. Strip the title; the Amato family in the Carini cluster is otherwise a real, repeatedly intermarried town family.
🔴 Sal Mineo, Manfredi "Al" Mineo, Settimo Mineo
No confirmed link to the Carini / Bagheria Mineo line. Mineo is a common Palermo-province surname. The overlap with 1920s Brooklyn crime figure Manfredi "Al" Mineo is coincidental geography plus a common name — already flagged as ruled out in the Domilici investigation.
🔴 Capra / Troncale as blood relatives
Frank Capra was born in Bisacquino, the same town as the Zito line. His parents (Salvatore Capra, Rosaria Nicolosi) do not match documented family surnames. The Mafia-boss uncle Francesco Troncale is a documented fact of Capra's family, not this one. Hometown color, not kinship.
