Three 1863 Majale fathers (Nicolò, Luciano, Ignazio) treated as brothers until the acts say otherwise. Target baby Nicolò is their generation, not Gen-B Nicolò.

Working assumption: Nicolò, Luciano, and Ignazio Majale (the three 1863 fathers) are brothers or close paternal cousins. The three 1863 babies are then first cousins, not siblings. Treat Luciano-stem and Nicolò-stem as parallel until an act ties them.

1863 M had no baby Nicolò. That is why 1862 Born is still required, but the three acts now do more for the clan map than another index pass.
Ranked guesses for Gen A (father of the three men)
- Nicolò Majale (best prior). Explains a Gen-B son named Nicolò, and why a Gen-C boy is also Nicolò (grandson named for Gen A, via Luciano or Ignazio — or a second son of Gen-B Nicolò). Fits the name recycling that has confused this search.
- Luciano or Ignazio. Possible if birth order made that brother the namesake. Weaker: Gen B already includes a Nicolò, which is usually the grandfather’s name.
- Francesco / Giuseppe / other. Open. Our Nicolò’s sons Francesco ~1886 and Giuseppe ~1890 often echo his father or brothers. Marriage/death acts will talk.
Do not assume Gen A is Luciano just because Luciano shows up twice (1863 Catterina + 1864 Maria). That is one productive stem, not the apex.
Not brothers — paternal cousins still share a grandfather; the 1863 cluster looks the same until ages and fu names on the acts diverge.
Where our Nicolò’s father most likely sits (Gen B)
He needs a birth ~Dec 1862–1863, and 1863 M had no baby Nicolò.

The father of our Nicolò is almost certainly Gen B — Luciano or Ignazio first, Gen-B Nicolò second — not Gen A himself.

Dalio is likely an in-law, not Gen A.
What would settle this (order)
- Open 1863 acts 51 → 96 → 301. Father’s age, occupation, fu (his father’s name), mother’s maiden name. Ages tell whether Gen B could father a boy in late 1862; maiden names test one family vs three; same fu = brothers.
- 1862 Nati M — still the direct hunt for baby Nicolò.
- Our Nicolò’s marriage (~1884–86) or 1926 death — usually names his father (the Gen-B man) in one shot. Fastest apex fix.
